Our Operations At Akademiska Hospital, the Department of Psychiatry is organized into four sections, one of which is the Section for Affective Disorders. The section offers both 24-hour inpatient care and several outpatient clinics, as well as a prehospital acute psychiatric mobile unit that together provide specialized psychiatric care for adults in Uppsala County. Within the section, there is also a gender identity clinic, an eating disorder unit for adults, a DBT unit, and an affective treatment unit. Different professions work in teams around patients at the section. We work in a process-oriented manner to continue delivering modern psychiatric care of high quality. There are significant opportunities for you as a physician in 24-hour care to help further develop care processes and create safe transitions between different care forms. As a specialist/senior physician in our 24-hour care, you will primarily work with patients with, for example, bipolar disorder, severe depression, severe anxiety and personality syndromes. To assist you, you have the ward's other staff, including junior physicians. Professionally, you will develop through stimulating encounters with both patients and their families, as well as with colleagues from your own and other sections and departments, the university, and students. We have good collaboration between inpatient and outpatient care with weekly meetings where we discuss the planning of hospitalized patients. The collaborative climate in the physician group is positive, where discussions about individual patient cases and medical issues are welcomed. We are delighted to welcome another colleague to the group. Your Assignment Your workdays will consist of standard specialist physician work at the affective 24-hour care ward. Supervision and teaching are part of the assignment, and we offer everyone a personal development plan. On-call and standby duty are included with the possibility of backup on-call training. Your Qualifications You must be a licensed physician with specialist competence in psychiatry. Since much of the work involves collaboration with others, we place great demands on good collaborative skills. Further, we would like you to be a structured and stable person while being solution-focused. We place great importance on personal suitability. Meritorious for the position are good knowledge of the patient group, interest in teaching and development, and experience working in 24-hour care. We Offer The position is a permanent employment; a trial employment period may be applied. Start date can be discussed. The position is 100% but there are good opportunities for individual arrangements. On-call and standby duty are included in the position.
