Therefore, Dals-Eds Municipality launched a school social team in 2024 to promote attendance and prevent problematic school absenteeism. Completed studies is one of the most important protective factors for preventing exclusion, substance abuse, and poor health. The position on the school social team is initially until 2026, but if the school social team is not extended, the position and work tasks will be transferred to another area under the social services committee's responsibilities. Dals-Eds Municipality also works according to Backa Barnet Dalsland, which involves early and rapid interventions in cooperation between schools, social services, healthcare, and the police. WORK DUTIES: As a school social worker on the school social team, your duties include mapping, investigations, and operational work with students and guardians. You will serve as a bridge between social services and schools with extensive collaboration with various school arenas. Other work duties include handling cases in the area of children and youth according to the Social Services Act and Care of Young Persons Act, as well as following up on interventions. That is, you investigate and make decisions about interventions according to applicable legislation and are responsible for follow-ups of the interventions you have decided on. In our meetings, we work to increase children's participation and ensure that children and parents experience good treatment. You work independently as a responsible caseworker. In cases where needed, you have access to a co-handler. As an employee, you have good access to support and guidance from the senior social worker and unit manager. We work based on creative solutions tailored to each individual's needs and circumstances. The work requires a positive attitude toward both clients and colleagues, as well as good collaboration and cooperation skills both internally and externally. QUALIFICATIONS: We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and experience in exercising public authority in the area of children and families. You have the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing. The position requires that you can work appropriately, legally, and efficiently. You are driven, take responsibility, and have good collaboration skills with various stakeholders. You should have a good ability to structure and plan your work. We would appreciate it if you have experience working with children and young people in complicated situations. You have a strong interest in children and young people developing according to their abilities and want to work with early interventions to promote school attendance, well-being, and ultimately the opportunity to achieve eligibility for upper secondary school. As a person, you have the ability to see children's/young people's different needs and take their individual circumstances into account. You have an open attitude and an inclusive approach. We place great emphasis on collaboration skills, flexibility, and personal suitability. In the overall assessment, great weight will be given to personal qualities and suitability. Experience with BBIC and knowledge of Procapita/Lifecare are also merits. A driver's license is a requirement.
