The school offers programs in construction and civil engineering, economics, electrical engineering and energy, nature management (with specializations in animal care, horse husbandry and agriculture), natural sciences, social sciences, and four introduction programs. The school also provides adapted national secondary school programs in forestry, land and animals, as well as property, construction and building. Additionally, the school offers national sports education (NIU) in equestrian sports and bandy, as well as local sports education (LIU) in various sports. The school has a student residential facility with over 130 beds, as well as food production as part of the agricultural education program. Parts of the production are served in the municipality's kitchens. Rättvik thus has Sweden's most locally produced school meals. Job Description Social Pedagogue at Stiernhööksgymnasiet – working both in school and at the residential facility. Would you like to make a real difference in young people's daily lives? We are now looking for an engaged and relationship-building social pedagogue who wants to help create a safe, structured and developmental environment for our students – both at school and at our residential facility. About the Position As a social pedagogue with us, you work closely with students in their daily lives with a focus on social development, well-being and successful studies. You are an important adult role model and contribute to creating safety, structure and good habits. The work takes place both in the school environment and at the residential facility where you meet students' needs in different situations and contexts. Your Responsibilities - Support students with social challenges and in their personal development - Work in a relationship-building way and conduct motivating conversations - Be a present adult who contributes to structure, safety and clarity - Work with conflict resolution and contribute to a respectful climate - Support students in developing strategies for daily life and studies - Actively participate in daily work both at school and the residential facility - Initiate and carry out activities that promote community and health - Work preventively against exclusion and mental health issues Collaboration You work closely with, among others: - Teachers, mentors and student health services - Residential facility staff - Guardians Together you work to create a complete picture of the student and provide coordinated and long-term support. An important part is strengthening collaboration between school, residential facility and home. Qualifications We are looking for someone who: - Is trained as a social pedagogue or has other relevant post-secondary education. - Has experience working with young people - Has a good ability to build trusting relationships - Is secure, clear and empathetic in your approach - Has good collaboration skills and works in a structured manner Meritorious - Experience working in a school or residential facility - Experience with motivational interviewing (MI) - Knowledge of mental health issues in young people.
