The Social Services Department in Borgholms Municipality is responsible for support, care and preventive measures for the municipality's residents. The department comprises approximately 650 employees and is organized into four operational areas: • Home care and home healthcare • Care and nursing facilities • Care for persons with disabilities • Individual and family care Each operational area is led by an operational manager. As Social Services Director, you will be part of the municipality's management group and work closely with other department and company heads to contribute to the municipality's overall development. The Social Services Department faces both great opportunities and important challenges in a time of changing needs and demographic development. DUTIES As Social Services Director, you have overall responsibility for leading, developing and monitoring the social services department's operations together with the department's management group. The role is both strategic and operationally close. We are therefore looking for someone who is visible in the organization, accessible to managers and employees, and who has good understanding of the realities and challenges of welfare work. You are responsible for ensuring that operations are conducted in accordance with the municipal council's and social services committee's goals, visions and budget frameworks. You drive development and change initiatives with a focus on quality, legal certainty, efficiency and good working environment. The role includes close collaboration with the social services committee's presidium and the municipal manager. You are responsible for presenting matters, preparing decision-making documents and creating conditions for well-founded decisions. You also represent the municipality in regional collaboration through participation in social services director networks and regional development forums. QUALIFICATIONS Requirements • Relevant higher education or other education that the employer considers equivalent • Several years of experience in qualified management and leadership at a strategic level • Experience leading other managers • Experience working in a politically governed organization • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish Desirable: • Experience with larger change and development initiatives • Education in leadership and/or change management • Experience from multiple areas of social services operations • Experience with regional collaboration and development work • Good knowledge of the laws and regulations governing social services operations Personal qualities We are looking for a confident and clear leader who combines strategic ability with strong operational commitment.
