Nearly Graduated or Newly Qualified Nurse for Department 2B/C, Varberg
Popis:
Are you interested in surgical nursing and acute care? Would you like to start your nursing career on a surgical ward? Then we welcome you to apply to Department 2B/C at Halland Hospital Varberg! About the Position Being a newly graduated nurse is an exciting challenge, but it can also come with feelings of uncertainty. To create an individualized and secure introduction, we want to offer you the opportunity to work alongside us as a nursing assistant already during semester 6 of your nursing education. This gives you a chance to get to know the department early and build confidence. After licensure, you will be employed as a nurse and have an orientation period of up to 6 months. During your introduction, as a nursing assistant and/or as a newly employed nurse, you will have check-ins/reflections and teaching from a nurse with the goal of deepening your competence in surgical care and nursing to increase your confidence. We also give you the opportunity to visit other units that care for surgical patients (outpatient clinic, emergency department, operating room, post-op, and ICU), which helps you understand the bigger picture. About Us Wards 2B/C are a shared department with one team of staff, a department manager, and an assistant department manager. The department is divided into three teams: ÖGI (upper gastro), NGI (lower gastro), and KAVA (surgical acute care unit). We practice pair care and staff each team with a pair—one nurse and one nursing assistant. There is also additional staffing during daytime and evening. Between 07:00 and 15:30, there is a coordinating function (nursing assistant) that primarily receives all incoming phone calls, distributes incoming patient flow as hospitalized patients are discharged and leave the department. Arranges all transports and maintains contact with the municipality, operating room, emergency, and bed coordinator to optimize patient flow. Patients come to us from various places depending on the reason for admission, which can be planned or acute. Mostly it is from Post-op following surgery or from the emergency department, but often from other hospitals after treatment or from neighboring departments, as we collaborate regarding care intensity. It also happens that patients come after an outpatient visit and are then admitted to the department. Currently there are 21–28 beds and we hope to soon open more as there is a need. Care intensity is assessed continuously and the care team is reinforced as needed. Qualifications We are looking for you who are studying to become a nurse in semester 6 or are a newly graduated nurse. Collaboration skills, thoroughness, commitment, and flexibility are qualities we value. A professional and humble approach and good communication are highly appreciated. We are looking for someone who wants to actively work in development for modern healthcare. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Warm welcome to apply! Selection and interviews take place continuously during the application period. If you are curious about what it is like to work with us, you are warmly welcome to visit the department and meet the manager, other nurses, and staff.
