How exciting that you're interested in working at our school! The ERK Foundation is an independent principal for the Swedish-Finnish School with grades F-6 and the Pikku-Erkki preschool, founded in 1993. The operations are bilingual and non-profit. Both activities are conducted at Vasbergsgatan 5 in Eskilstuna, a beautiful, centrally located, historic old school building. Together there are approximately 110 children enrolled in the operations (preschool and school) and approximately 25 staff members. The Foundation's mission is to preserve and develop Swedish-Finnish culture together with a high level in both Swedish and Finnish language. The goal is to teach the children and students Finnish and Swedish at a level that enables active bilingualism and supports their Swedish-Finnish identity development. We are now seeking: Wood and metal crafts teacher and/or textile teacher for the intermediate grades. For the right person it can become more than 30% and up to 80% if interest exists. Job Description Subject planning and teaching. We are setting up our own craft workshop during spring and summer. Previously we have rented other facilities. You collaborate with other teachers, student welfare services, and mentors. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has certification in the subject of crafts. Crafts is a 30% part-time position. You are welcome to be certified in additional subjects as we are a small school and would like to employ teachers who can teach in more than one subject. Please see our other job postings on Platsbanken. If you are not certified, we can offer a school year substitute position. Merits: Our working and teaching languages are both Swedish and Finnish. For this position, good knowledge of Swedish is a requirement, knowledge of Finnish is not a must but is considered a merit. Other You will come to a pleasant workplace with many fine traditions.
