Prismaskolan in Mariestad is a grades F-6 school located in a beautiful natural setting near the center of Mariestad. The school, which opened in 2017, offers bright facilities inspired by Lake Vänern and its surrounding nature, and is designed to provide opportunities for flexible teaching methods where school and after-school programs work together. The school has a large outdoor play area with opportunities for varied activities. At Prismaskolan, we have good collaboration and do our best to meet our students. For the fall semester, we are now looking for a craft teacher for both woodworking/metalworking and textile crafts who wants to be part of our good work at the school. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a craft teacher, you will meet students from different grade levels here at Prismaskolan. With commitment and enthusiasm, you create a safe learning environment that stimulates students toward joyful learning. You teach textile crafts as well as woodworking and metalworking, and you plan, conduct, and evaluate instruction based on the curriculum and the school's goals. You work closely with colleagues in your team to create a stimulating and safe learning environment. Your role also includes these tasks: • Ordering materials • Collaborating with special education staff and classroom teachers for clear support measures. • Integrating digital tools and participating in cross-curricular projects. • Following up on and documenting student development. • Supporting colleagues with inclusive methods and tools. Employment is full-time and should begin at the start of school in August. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a teaching degree and certification in woodworking/metalworking and textile crafts. Previous teaching experience in the subject and in inclusive teaching such as for example special needs education and multilingualism are merits. You are a committed educator who can inspire, motivate, and see each student's potential to reach their goals. We want you to be flexible and have strong collaboration skills. You value building relationships with students, colleagues, and parents. You should also have the ability to develop your work based on the task and see that you have creative thinking and enjoy developing new working methods.
