Orust Montessori School is now hiring a crafts teacher at approximately 20% to our wonderful school in Henån, Orust Municipality. Orust Montessori School is an independent school with preschool, primary school, and after-school care for approximately 100 children ages 1–12 years. The school is located in Henån on Orust with proximity to forest and sea. The school operates as an economic association and has since its founding in 1993 offered strong commitment and pedagogical expertise in providing children the best possible start in life – with security, curiosity, knowledge, and self-confidence. Montessori pedagogy's view of learning and development shapes our operations. Job Responsibilities: We are looking for a teacher in crafts (wood, metal, and textile) for grades 3–6 who is passionate about guiding young people in creative expression. As a teacher with us, you will independently plan, evaluate, and follow up on your instruction while ensuring quality learning for students according to our governing documents. Teaching takes place in groups of approximately 7–8 children, held one day per week (currently Thursdays), or alternatively two half-days. Qualifications: You are a certified and licensed teacher in the subject area. You have experience planning, implementing, and following up on instruction and student results. You have strong organizational skills. You demonstrate clear classroom leadership and the ability to create a safe and varied learning environment characterized by high quality, order, and enthusiasm for learning. You have a good understanding of people's different capacities for acquiring knowledge. You are a trustworthy and stable person with self-awareness. We place great importance on personal suitability. Start date fall semester 2026. If you hold certification in other subjects, there is an opportunity to expand the scope of employment.
