Forest Planner Description The Property Department of Skara Diocese manages approximately 25,000 hectares of productive forest land, certified according to both FSC® and PEFC®, and conducts business-oriented operations with a focus on long-term sustainability. We offer varied and independent work that requires initiative and a strong sense of responsibility, where you have the chance to make a difference and contribute to sustainable societal development, with nature and human dignity at the center. Duties You will be part of a team of planners and work with stand planning for the implementation of forest management measures. An important part of the position is planning for harvesting and forest care measures based on certifications and species protection regulations. Other tasks include monitoring and maintenance of our forest compartment register, as well as financial follow-up of completed measures. You work independently with operational fieldwork, and in close cooperation with the Diocese Forest Ranger and the contractor companies that carry out most of the forest management measures. You will also be a representative in road associations and a contact person for neighboring property owners and authorities. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a forestry university degree and experience with the tasks described above, or alternatively other experience considered equivalent. As an employer, we desire good knowledge of forest management as well as openness to the use of nature-close forestry and clearcut-free forestry methods. Experience with nature value assessment and good species knowledge, as well as experience using forest IT systems, is desirable. You easily build relationships, communicate, and convey information to others. You have good teamwork abilities and enjoy being part of a team. You are service-oriented and experienced in managing contacts. Therefore, great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. The position involves travel and thus requires a Category B driver's license.
