ENA Energi AB, founded in 1972, is wholly owned by Enköping Municipality through the company Enköpings Moderbolag AB. Since the mid-1990s, when the combined heat and power plant came online, the company has produced electricity and district heating from nearly 100% biomass fuel. ENA Energi AB has over 40 employees and delivers approximately 220 GWh to approximately 1,800 customers through a district heating network spanning 120 km and produces approximately 75 GWh of electricity. Shift-Based Operations Technician at ENA Energi AB Do you want a varied and meaningful job in a socially important operation? Then the role of operations technician at ENA Energi AB might be right for you. To ensure long-term and secure knowledge transfer ahead of an upcoming retirement, we are now looking for someone who wants to join our team and contribute to a safe and sustainable energy supply. About the Role As an operations technician with us, you work close to the process with clear responsibility for the whole picture. You work in shifts together with an operations engineer and are responsible for running the facility safely, economically, and environmentally correctly. The work includes, among other things: • Independent rounds and monitoring of the facility • Operator maintenance and systematic deviation reporting • Planning and execution of shutdowns and startups • Active participation in prioritizing operational and maintenance efforts • Participation in audit work and development of operating procedures and process solutions The facility consists of a wood chip-fired combined heat and power block with associated steam turbine, flue gas cooler, and water treatment. Additionally, there are steam and hot water boilers using pellets and oil as fuel. The role involves great responsibility and high variation – from fuel input to ash handling and, for example, operating a loader. We are in the process of building new boilers and facilities. Shift work is the main rule, but periods of daytime work and on-call duty may occur. Who We Believe You Are You are confident in your role as an operations technician and experienced in working independently in a process or combined heat and power environment. You have a developed safety mindset, good understanding of how the facility's systems work together, and the ability to make well-considered decisions even when conditions change rapidly. Operations don't always go as planned, and great flexibility is required. But with this comes a varied and meaningful job with great freedom within responsibility. Qualifications • Operations technician education (university, vocational school, or equivalent) • Several years of experience from combined heat and power plants or process industry • Experience with solid fuel facilities is a merit • Boiler operator certificate is a merit • Knowledge of water chemistry and change management is a merit • Good knowledge of Swedish and English • Class B driver's license This is a full-time position based in Enköping. Start date by agreement. On-call duty may occur with a response time of 1 hour.
