The Unit for Palliative Care and Advanced Home Healthcare (ASIH) within Region Scania has the overarching goal of offering equivalent care to all residents in Scania regardless of diagnosis, age, and place of residence. In Kristianstad, the unit has a specific mission to provide specialized palliative care through home visits around the clock. The unit consists of two parts that work closely together; the palliative care ward and advanced home healthcare. At our palliative care ward in Kristianstad, we have ten care beds, and within the municipalities of Kristianstad, Bromölla, and Östra Göinge, we have approximately 32 care beds in the home. We collaborate with municipal care and welfare services to provide good and cohesive comprehensive care together. Our palliative care ward receives patients for shorter or longer stays depending on the reason for admission. We also have a palliative consultation team that visits referred patients at hospitals and in their home environment and provides support to other care providers. We also have a palliative specialist clinic (PM) during daytime. The palliative specialist clinic and our consultative support will be an important part of the continued development of our activities. By meeting patients earlier in the course of their illness, we can offer support, symptom relief, and care closer to the patient. One step in this is Supportive Cancer Care, which is a region-wide effort where care is brought closer to patients and people undergoing cancer treatment are offered symptom relief and certain treatments at home, instead of having to be hospitalized. WORK TASKS Due to retirements and maternity leave, among other reasons, we are now welcoming new colleagues who have a genuine interest in palliative care and want to develop within the field at ASIH in Kristianstad. With us, you are offered stimulating and exciting work where you become part of a multidisciplinary team. As a newly hired nurse with us, you will receive five weeks of on-the-job training. We follow an introduction program developed at the unit, and after completing your on-the-job training, you will receive mentorship where you get support from a more experienced colleague based on your needs. We value development work, continuing education, supervision, and reflection for both new and experienced staff. As a nurse with us, you perform advanced home healthcare. You lead and actively participate in planning around the patient's daily care together with other professionals and collaborate with other care providers. You are also expected to actively participate in the unit's development and improvement work. The goal of specialized care is to collaborate with the patient and other care providers to relieve the symptoms that burden the patient and thereby create the best possible quality of life. This means meeting the patient's physical, mental, and existential needs and providing support to relatives. We have close collaboration with the palliative care ward for hospitalized patients, ASIH in Hässleholm, and with the hospital and various clinics. We also collaborate with CSK regarding the care of patients within Supportive Cancer Care. With us, you are also offered a wellness allowance and individual schedule booking via MultiAccess. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you as a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare, preferably with a few years of professional experience. Swedish language proficiency corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale is a requirement. We would like to see that you have specialist training in oncology and/or palliative care. Since the activities consist of care beds in the patient's own home or in special accommodation, a valid B driving license is a requirement for the position. You are someone who is confident in your professional role and has the patient in focus, which means you have the ability to see the patient as an individual and their needs. Part of the work involves support and conversation, so it is important that you are communicative and able to meet people on different levels. Furthermore, you have a flexible approach and can prioritize between different tasks when the pace of work is high.
