Welcome to a stimulating position on a care unit with oncology and palliative care focus! Your Workplace The Oncology Clinic holds regional responsibility for general oncology cancer care in Värmland. The clinic consists of care unit 7, outpatient clinics, radiation therapy, and a palliative team. The care unit has 16 beds and some day care spaces. We work together as nursing assistants, registered nurses, and physicians. We care for patients with various cancer diagnoses and provide curative treatments as well as end-of-life care. A significant part of care involves symptom management to achieve the best possible quality of life with a person-centered approach. On unit 7, we provide excellent care where each team member contributes their knowledge. We value and prioritize that patients receive the best care. We collaborate as a team to provide good nursing care and symptom relief. We have a holistic perspective that permeates our work; we see both the patient and their loved ones as important. You will have the opportunity to grow professionally and personally through challenges and new experiences. Internal training is available for administering cytostatic drugs, as well as continuous education and lectures on current nursing care and medical conditions. Your Responsibilities As a registered nurse, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on patient care. You will work closely with nursing assistants, physicians, and other team members. The work is varied and includes both medical-technical procedures and complex nursing care. Administering medications, providing treatments, and documenting in the care system are part of your daily routine. You actively contribute to care planning and follow up on nursing interventions. Support for patients and their loved ones is an important part of the role, as is planning for continued care. The position involves shift work including day, evening, and night shifts. To ensure a smooth start, we offer individualized orientation. Your Knowledge and Competencies We are looking for a licensed registered nurse. Experience from oncology and/or palliative care, as well as experience from a care unit, is advantageous. Specialist training in oncology or palliative care is also desirable. You are confident in your professional role and can remain calm even when the pace is high. You approach changes with an open mind and see opportunities where others see obstacles. You take responsibility, plan your work, and move it forward with both independence and initiative. Collaboration is self-evident to you, and you communicate clearly and attentively.
