About Us Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a multidisciplinary specialist service that encompasses family therapeutic, cognitive, psychodynamic, and neuropsychological perspectives. Our mission is to identify, assess, and treat mental health issues in children, adolescents under 18 years of age, and their families. Our 24-hour inpatient care unit has 3 beds and also includes an emergency reception. We are now seeking a colleague on a permanent basis to complement our wonderful work team. We serve children and adolescents with serious psychiatric issues who require inpatient care. Care duration varies depending on the assignment as we function as both an acute unit and a treatment unit in newly renovated facilities. About the Job As a nurse with us, you will be part of a work group of 19 colleagues consisting of care assistants, coordinators, nurses, ward physicians, and a ward manager. The team includes both new and experienced staff members. We collaborate closely with Child and Adolescent Psychiatry's outpatient services and the expertise available there. Our unit is located in the same building as parts of Adult Psychiatry's 24-hour care and we support and help each other in the facility when needed. As a nurse, you will work certain days as a team leader together with coordinators. You participate in rounds for our inpatients, in acute assessments, and plan and evaluate patients' care needs and medical treatment. We receive calls 24/7 from patients and relatives who need advice and support. In our daily work, we place great emphasis on ensuring that the needs of the entire family for support are highlighted, so it is important that you can adapt your approach and manner based on the situation and the individual. We are looking for a colleague who is confident in themselves and their competence and finds it challenging to work with some degree of unpredictability. Within the work group, we try to make use of opportunities to share new knowledge as well as for recovery and having fun at work. You will receive our internal orientation training, mentorship, supervision, and regular development time. You will work two weekends out of five on a rotating schedule covering day, evening, and night shifts. If you are a psychiatric nurse and/or have experience working with children and young people with eating disorders, suicidality, or psychosis in inpatient care, we consider that an advantage. We want you to be flexible, have good teamwork skills, and be able to remain calm in stressful situations. You have a strong patient focus and see the opportunity to work together with patients and their families to achieve success in treatment work. For us, it is important that you have a genuine interest in working with children and adolescents with psychiatric issues and that you want to be part of developing our services! We have recently begun implementing Safewards and aim to be completed by the end of 2027. Personal suitability is given significant weight. Applicants who are selected for employment must provide a certificate from the Police Authority's criminal record register before employment.
