Strängnäs Municipality's staffing unit is seeking summer substitutes for our residential care facilities (nursing homes), home care services, and night patrols. You are flexible and appreciate dynamic and varied work where no two days are alike. Our clients, whether living in residential facilities or in their own homes, need assistance with daily living, which may include personal care and hygiene, meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, shopping, or outings—all based on the clients' preferences. If you work during the summer period, you will be scheduled at the same workplace for an extended period. 20 position(s). WORK TASKS If you work at one of our excellent residential facilities, you will assist our clients at the facility with daily support needs. Much of the work you will do one-on-one with the client, but you have colleagues on-site and together you distribute tasks during your shift. In home care, you work with our clients in their own homes and support them with approved tasks. During your shift, you walk, cycle, or drive a car between clients' homes. You usually conduct home visits independently, but you are part of a team. Documentation is part of the work, and your hours vary and may include days, evenings, and weekends. We are also seeking night staff for some of our units. To be eligible for employment, you need to be able to get to and from work during evenings and weekends without always depending on public transportation. This is especially important if you apply for a position at one of our facilities outside central Strängnäs, such as Åkers styckebruk and Mariefred. Working as a temporary substitute for us gives you unique experiences from different workplaces and opportunities to build valuable contacts for the future. It is thanks to our substitutes that our services can remain open year-round, weekday and weekend, day and night. The job includes performing delegated tasks, and after a certain employment period, it is also a requirement to accept delegation for us to continue booking you for shifts. Beyond nursing assistants and care attendants, you can also work as an aide for us. An aide makes everyday life easier and more pleasant for elderly clients through service and simple care measures that follow the implementation plan. Among other things, you support regular staff, document services, and ensure that aids such as walkers and wheelchairs are kept clean. An important part of the role is also to create security and comfort through conversation, reading the newspaper together, playing games, taking a walk, or helping with crosswords. As of spring 2026, a new law has come into force which means that work in the homes of elderly persons or adults with disabilities will be subject to a criminal record check. For this position, this means that final candidates must show certificates from both the criminal record register and the suspicion register before employment can be offered by Strängnäs Municipality. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has/is: • At least 18 years old (this is a requirement for working in healthcare as a substitute for us). • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish. • Comfortable using IT as a tool in daily work, as certain documentation and scheduling are done in our systems. • To be able to work in home care, it is also important that you can cycle. It is advantageous if you have: • Training in nursing care, particularly if you are a nursing assistant. • Previous experience working in healthcare. • A B driving license and driving experience are advantageous if you want to work in home care. • The ability to work throughout the entire summer period, June–August. If you work in home care, you should be prepared for the possibility of pets in our clients' homes. Your personal qualities are important to us! Once you have completed this, you will be assigned to a workplace where you will also receive on-the-job training and learn the practical work there. We are now seeking staff who can work during all or part of the summer period, which runs from June to August. There may be opportunities to start working on an hourly basis during spring and possibly extended opportunities after summer.
