School Counselor at Internationella Engelska Skolan in Kungsbacka (Temporary Position) We are seeking a dedicated and relationship-focused school counselor for a full-time position starting Fall 2026. This is a temporary position running until January 2028. Internationella Engelska Skolan is an established preschool and school organization with high academic ambitions and a clear focus on academic focus, structure, and respect. As a school counselor with us, you will have a central role in contributing to a safe, structured, and inclusive school environment where students are given the best possible conditions to reach their academic goals and develop as individuals. We are looking for someone who is confident, clear, and has a strong ability to build trusting relationships. You are organized in your work, have a solution-focused approach, and enjoy working both independently and as part of a team. You will be part of the school's student wellness team (EHT), where we work closely together with a clear focus on preventive and health-promoting initiatives. You collaborate daily with school leadership, teachers, and other staff to create a positive learning environment characterized by academic focus, clarity, and high expectations. Your Primary Responsibilities - Conduct individual sessions with students - Work with groups and classes for preventive purposes - Contribute to the school's health promotion efforts - Guide and support staff in student matters - Collaborate with external partners such as child mental health services, social services, and youth health clinics - Participate in network meetings - Actively work with the school's plan against bullying and discrimination - Provide support during crisis and conflict situations Qualifications - Degree in social work or other relevant higher education - Experience working with children and young people, preferably in a school environment - Strong ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English We Offer - A clear organization with strong focus on academic excellence and quality - A well-functioning student wellness team - Engaged and professional colleagues - Opportunity to contribute to the school's continued development Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff.
