We are seeking resource educators for the central special education group Hugin. Job Duties The position primarily consists of pedagogical work with students, individually and in groups, together with the work team, comprised of teachers and support staff, in close collaboration. Mentorship for students is also part of the responsibilities. You must be able to take shared responsibility for students' daily activities, the work group's development, and the program's role as a special resource within the education administration's organization. A willingness to participate in and contribute to shared education and regular supervision is required, as is a willingness and ability to collaborate closely with colleagues, students, guardians, home schools, and external partners. Working with children and young people with NPF (neurodevelopmental functional variations) whose behaviors challenge their surroundings places significant demands on commitment, empathy, interaction skills, collaboration, and perseverance. You need knowledge about functional disabilities, but most importantly, knowledge of how to meet, motivate, and communicate with the specific student. Low-arousal behavior management (LAB), clarifying pedagogy with visual support, and collaborative problem-solving (CPS) form the foundation of our work. A non-hierarchical work environment is also required to continuously follow up on and reconsider work methods and approaches to create effective support. Continuous support through supervision, both in groups and individually, is provided by the central child and student health services. The position includes developing the program together with colleagues and the unit manager for Hugin. About the Workplace: Karlshamns Municipality operates a central special education group for primary school students with exceptional needs for specialized support. The program is divided into three parts, all located in Asarum. The goal is to offer specialized expertise in adapted learning environments for students from the municipality's public primary schools. Collaboration with the home schools where students have their class placement is sought, and a student's placement at Hugin may vary in duration and scope. The student's principal retains legal responsibility for formal decisions regarding schooling. The purpose of Hugin's work is to create conditions for students to develop knowledge, values, and skills through individually tailored adaptations. The framework for the work is the school's governing documents including the Curriculum for Primary School (LGR 22), the School Board's general guidelines, and the Education Act. The design of instruction requires individual adaptations based on each student's needs and conditions.
