Åre Municipality is a Sámi administrative municipality and we welcome applicants who have linguistic and cultural knowledge in Sámi. The Community Development Administration consists of three departments: citizen services, strategic community planning, and the technical department. The administration is responsible for ensuring service to citizens and businesses, for strategic planning of community development, and for the municipality's water and wastewater operations, waste management, property, and project organization to support these operations during new investments and reinvestments. 1 position(s). WORK DUTIES Would you like to contribute to Åre Municipality's long-term development and future resilience? We are seeking a project manager for the pre-study Balance for a Robust Business Community, which is a strategic development project focusing on business resilience, sector balance, capacity, sustainable transition, and future supply security. The pre-study is an important part of initiating the municipality's long-term work toward a more diversified, sustainable, and resilient business community and will form the foundation for continued work on these issues. Åre Municipality has experienced strong development over a long period with tourism as the driving force. At the same time, analyses show that the business community needs to broaden to reduce vulnerability and create better conditions for sustainable growth, skills supply, and long-term resilience. The pre-study should, for example and/or among other things, develop strategic and fact-based materials for how Åre Municipality can develop the following: • Robust and sustainable value chains • New business and establishment opportunities • Strengthened cooperation between the public sector, business, and other actors • Increased supply security and industrial capacity • Opportunities linked to innovation and dual-use • The work is closely linked to Åre Municipality's long-term community development, Vision 2050, and the municipality's strategic work on sustainable growth, community planning, and business development As project manager, you are responsible for planning, leading, and implementing the pre-study together with internal and external actors. The role includes, among other things: • Drive the project from initiation to final reporting • Coordinate dialogues between municipality, businesses, region, academia, and authorities • Conduct analyses, interviews, and workshops • Identify development areas and strategic choices • Develop decision-making materials and recommendations for future implementation projects • Manage the project's budget, follow-up, and reporting • Contribute to developing the municipality's long-term business and community development work QUALIFICATIONS • Relevant academic education in, for example, community planning, regional development, political science, economics, or other education that the employer considers equivalent • Experience in project management within the public sector, community development, or business development • Good experience with strategic development work and collaboration processes • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish Meriting factors if you have: • Experience with EU-funded projects or public development projects • Knowledge of regional development, business issues, and sustainable transition • Experience working in a politically governed organization • Understanding of issues related to total defense, supply security, or industrial development To thrive and succeed in this role, you need to be structured, self-directed with analytical and strategic capability.
