Would you like to work in a modern production facility where every product is unique? Optileks AB in Rättvik, part of the global lens manufacturer Shamir, produces eyeglass lenses for opticians throughout the Nordic region. With us, there are no inventory jobs or mass production – every order is a unique solution. You will work in our production with the manufacturing of eyeglass lenses in one of our production stages. This can range from creating the glass itself to final assembly in frames. The Production Process A lens goes through several stages before it is finished: RX (Manufacturing) – the lens is produced from semi-finished material, so called: Semi-Finished Tinting – the lens is tinted according to the customer's needs Surface Treatment – coating, hardening, and anti-reflection in a high-vacuum process Quality Control (QC) – measurement and verification of results Edging – shaping and assembly into eyeglass frames You will become part of one of these stages – but the whole is what matters A role where you learn from the ground up This position is essentially a trainee role. It takes approximately 1.5–2 years to become fully independent, as the work is complex and encompasses everything from production techniques to material knowledge and product understanding. You start with simpler tasks and gradually build your skills until you are a fully integrated part of the production team. What it's like to work with us We work with advanced technology – CNC, polishing, vacuum surface treatment – but often with elements of craftsmanship and a feel for precision. The pace is driven by the order flow. There is always work and production is constantly moving. We are looking for someone who wants to work and develop is thorough but also efficient has good manual dexterity works well in a team has the right attitude and willingness to learn We also think it would be advantageous if you live in our local area.
