The Culture School unit is located in Kulturhuset Tio14, which also includes the units Kulturhuset Tio14 and Leisure for Youth. At the Culture and Leisure Administration, we collaborate to provide a wide range of meeting places for residents of Falun of all ages offering stimulation, creativity, and opportunities for an active physical life. We believe that meaningful and enjoyable cultural and leisure activities increase quality of life and contribute to improved public health. Falun has a rich musical life with opportunities to participate. Several strong cultural institutions are based in Falun. Responsibilities You will primarily work with instrumental instruction in piano with students aged 8-20 years. Instrumental instruction can take place both individually and in groups. You will primarily belong to the piano subject group but will also work closely with other educators at Kulturskolan, particularly regarding choir. We are looking for children's choir leadership competence, and part of the position involves leading children's choirs as part of a team with a colleague. Your responsibilities include contact with students, guardians, other activities in Kulturhuset Tio14, and organizing and creating conditions for student concerts, etc. Holiday activities are part of the culture school's offerings, and we see it as positive if you want to be involved in developing this. Work takes place primarily on weekdays during afternoons and evenings but can also occur during daytime. Weekend work may occur, particularly in connection with the culture school's outreach activities. Qualifications For this role, the following is required: Relevant education from a music university or education deemed equivalent. Pedagogical experience as a piano teacher, in group music instruction, and as a children's choir director. Good skills in the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Knowledge of using digital tools (computer, etc.) for communication and student management. Personal Qualities As an educator, you should be responsive in your interactions with children and young people. You have strong leadership abilities and a strong focus on students. You communicate well with the students you work with, actively working to meet them and their interests. Furthermore, you can be both independent and a team member in your work. As a person, you are prepared to take on challenges and try new things. Organizing projects and placing emphasis on youth participation are not unfamiliar to you. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. Meritorious Qualifications Experience from teaching in a culture school. Experience with secondary instruments or other subjects that can appropriately complement the position's content. Class B driver's license and access to your own car. Experience working with children's rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Experience with the SpeedAdmin student management system. Terms of Employment The position is a vacation employment according to the teachers' collective agreement. The position is full-time (100%) permanent starting 20260810. Work can occur during daytime and evening hours as well as sporadically on weekends in connection with outreach activities. Interviews may be conducted continuously during the application period.
