As a music teacher at Vanstaskolan, you'll have the opportunity to make music an integral part of students' daily lives. Here you can focus entirely on music instruction – mentorship is not part of the role, so you can devote your energy to what you love most. Job Responsibilities You teach full classes in grades 4–5 and 8–9, and half classes in grades 6–7. This gives you both the dynamics of full-class instruction and the opportunity to work more in-depth with smaller groups. In addition, the school is launching profile lessons in the fall, where you will be responsible for two music profile periods per week. You plan, carry out, and evaluate instruction based on Lgr22, and assign grades in grades 6–9. You're comfortable working both practically and systematically, and you enjoy the combination of classroom instruction, ensemble work, digital tools, and creative methods. You enjoy collaborating with colleagues, are happy to share your ideas, and take initiative to develop the music subject and the school's cultural and musical activities. Above all, you have strong commitment to middle and high school students and want to contribute to a school where everyone feels welcome and seen. To succeed in this role, you have: To feel secure in this assignment, you need both subject expertise in music and experience leading groups of children and young people. This allows you to create structure, a productive work environment, and at the same time maintain the joy of music-making. - Teaching degree with a focus on music for primary school, or equivalent pedagogical education - At least 1 year of experience teaching music to students in grades 4–9 - Strong ability to play at least one chord instrument that can be used in teaching - Strong ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing - Experience working with Lgr22, planning, assessment, and grading - Basic IT skills and confidence using digital learning tools in instruction It's a merit if you have: Beyond the basic requirements, we view positively experience and knowledge that make it possible to develop our music profile and expand students' opportunities. - Experience working with music profiles, music enrichment, or similar programs - Experience leading student performances, concerts, or other stage productions - Experience working in primary school within the public sector - Experience collaborating in work teams and cross-disciplinary projects - Knowledge of multiple instruments or genres that can enrich instruction - Knowledge of music production, sound engineering, or digital creation Personal Qualities We're Looking For To thrive with us, you need to be a confident classroom leader who can combine structure with warmth and humor.
