Workplace Description The Neural Stem Cells research group conducts research on iPSC-derived cellular models of the human brain to study neurodevelopment in health and disease. We use reprogramming, iPSC and neural differentiation to create, establish, and expand 2D neuroepithelial stem cell systems as well as 3D organoids from iPSCs derived from healthy controls or patients, or from CRISPR-edited iPSCs. The group is international and includes staff in research, administration, and technology, and is led by Professor Anna Falk. Learn more about our research and the doctoral network visi-on-brain: https://www.stemcellcenter.lu.se/research-groups/falk https://visi-on-brain.eu https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101227124 Project Reference: 101227124 Duties and Responsibilities As a doctoral researcher in the visi-on-brain doctoral program within our research group, you are responsible for designing and generating data, analyzing results, and reporting scientific projects in writing and orally, in collaboration with the research group leader and other group members. The duties mainly involve establishment, cultivation, characterization, differentiation, and studies of iPSC-derived (induced pluripotent stem cell) models of the human brain in 2D and 3D, including downstream characterization of cell identity, cell function, and network formation. Duties also include administrative tasks and collaboration with other disciplines. You will use methods in cell and molecular biology, bioinformatics, advanced cell culture, RT-PCR, immunostaining, microscopy, flow cytometry, analysis of single-cell and bulk omics sequencing data, and mathematical modeling. Other work tasks within the research group may also be relevant, such as participation in other projects within the group, administration, conference travel, presentation of research results, and mentoring of students. As a doctoral researcher in a Marie Curie doctoral network, you will be integrated into visi-on-brain and link your project closely to other projects within this European network as well as to an internship at a company.
