The Water Utilities unit within Technology and Recreation Säffle-Åmål is now seeking a driven meter technician who wants to be part of developing work with modern remote-connected and leak-detection water meters. With us, you will have an important role in streamlining operations and enhancing service to both residents and society. Job Responsibilities As a water meter technician, you are responsible for replacing, installing, and maintaining water meters for our water utility customers. The work is largely conducted independently at property owners' premises and involves both technical work and customer contact. In this role, you will also work on developing and streamlining operations around our new smart water meters. The work is carried out in close collaboration with both customer service and the water utilities unit's operations staff. Job responsibilities include, among other things: Replacement, installation, maintenance, and inspection of water meters Planning and customer contact prior to meter replacements and handling of customer matters related to water meters Procurement, inventory management, and administration of meter information Monitoring and analysis of meter data in operational systems to identify, for example, leaks, excessive consumption, and other disturbances Support to other staff when needed, for example, during leak detection in the field Other tasks include assisting with service shutdowns in connection with work on properties' water installations, managing and administering meter information, responding to meter-related customer matters, and assisting with meter audits. Who Are You? We are looking for someone who is responsible, solution-oriented, and enjoys independent work where technology and service go hand in hand. You like to take initiative, are organized, and have the drive to develop both work methods and operations. The water utilities unit's operations are classified as critical infrastructure and subject to strict legal requirements, which means that the work requires great responsibility and accuracy. Because we work with drinking water, high standards for hygiene and cleanliness are also required in daily work. To thrive in this role, you have good social competence, are service-oriented, and professional in your interactions, and enjoy having contact with people. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
