About the Workplace The food service operation is part of the service administration in Ale Municipality. The service administration has the task of providing quality services to Ale Municipality's core operations in a professional and resource-efficient manner. The meals we serve are an important part of the day for schools, preschools, and elderly care. The food service's goal is well-composed, nutritionally balanced, sustainable, and safe meals that are prepared and served with pride, care, and passion. In Ale, we work with economic, ecological, and social sustainability. In total, our food service operation consists of approximately 90 employees and 32 kitchens. We are now seeking an engaged and service-oriented food service assistant for the food unit. The position is currently placed in the kitchen at Da Vinci School, which is centrally located in Nödinge. The kitchen prepares meals for the school's 450 students and for two elderly care facilities in the municipality that we deliver meals to. You will work alongside several colleagues and have a daily operations manager on site. Duties The work includes contributing and working to achieve Ale Municipality's, the administration's, and the operation's goals and complying with applicable laws and guidelines, as well as participating in and contributing to a good work environment. Good collaboration skills, flexibility, and a good sense of service are important qualities. The work involves participating in food production and serving lunch with a pleasant demeanor and high service quality. In your role as a food service assistant, your duties include preparing and serving delicious and nutritionally balanced meals. You are responsible for food safety and must be able to correctly label and inform about meal contents. Dishwashing and cleaning of serving areas, food carts, and the kitchen are daily routines. Do you have good collaboration skills, are you service-oriented, and do you have a responsible and flexible work approach with a focus on good food served with pride, care, and passion? Then we're looking for you! Qualifications You have upper secondary education in the restaurant and food program or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You have previous experience working as a food service assistant and enjoy working with students as dining guests. You should have good theoretical and practical knowledge in the kitchen and in special diets and can handle daily cleaning and quality control well. If you have experience working in kitchens in large-scale facilities in schools or elderly care, that is meritorious. It is important that you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a sense of good service. Basic computer skills are required. You must be able to master the Swedish language in speech and writing, as reading and following routines, instructions, and communicating with colleagues, customers, and dining guests are part of the assignment.
