Do you want a key role in the fire and rescue service's command operations and help ensure that rescue operations are conducted efficiently and safely? Fyrbodal Fire and Rescue Service is now recruiting Emergency Communications and Command Officers (LLB), a dynamic role where you will have a real opportunity to make a difference, with the chance to work closely with operational leadership and contribute to community safety. Assignment As an LLB, you will work within the decision-making domain of system command and perform tasks based on the roles the function encompasses—such as command support, initial resource management, and response adaptation. You will work within a rescue command system that extends from Mellerud in the north to Laholm in the south. Within the rescue command system, several LLBs work in parallel, stationed at geographically dispersed control centers in Trollhättan, Borås, and Halmstad. We are now seeking two to five Emergency Communications and Command Officers to be stationed in Trollhättan. You will work together with two other LLBs under the same on-duty commander. A central part of the LLB role is to contribute to an uninterrupted command process. You continuously evaluate information about assistance needs at emergencies and adapt response assignments based on the current situation assessment. In this role, you initiate, direct, and coordinate other time-critical measures in the early stages of rescue operations. You ensure that ongoing rescue operations are monitored and provide continuous and proactive command support to the response organization. Through active follow-up and the development of relevant decision-making documents, you create favorable conditions for the incident commanders' work. As an LLB, you are also responsible for ensuring that rescue operations are equipped with the right resources and capabilities for efficient execution. This includes maintaining close collaboration and contact with SOS Alarm. Furthermore, you ensure initial readiness management within your assigned area and carry out measures to maintain readiness according to established parameters. The position also includes daytime work with assignments shaped together with your manager, based on your personal expertise. Since our rescue command system is new and we will be in a period of significant expansion and development, you are expected to contribute to the development of the robust rescue command system that we aspire to be. Qualifications Education To be considered for the position, you must have completed basic training as a firefighter or fire engineer and one of the following qualifications with a passing grade, or other education deemed equivalent: Command Course Lk1b, or Supplementary education for fire engineers (RUB), or other equivalent older education. Experience in operational command functions within overall and/or incident scene-level command is meritorious. Knowledge and Skills Applied knowledge of LSO and occupational health and safety legislation Good understanding of the command process, decision-making domains, and ELS and the Common Foundations framework Knowledge of emergency communications and readiness management, prioritization principles, tactics, and methods Ability to manage information and situational awareness and use technical decision-making and communication support tools Ability to coordinate resources, structure, and convey information in real time Courage and judgment to make decisions even in unclear circumstances Class B driver's license We are looking for someone who is organized and methodical and feels comfortable at a fast pace. You have strong multitasking abilities, high stress tolerance, and are communicative, clear, and team-oriented. About the Workplace Fyrbodal Fire and Rescue Service is currently embarking on an exciting journey to create a new joint rescue command system together with the Southern Halland and Älvsborg command systems. The new rescue command system will extend from Mellerud in the north to Laholm in the south and consist of three control centers located in Trollhättan, Borås, and Halmstad. The control center in Fyrbodal will, by the end of 2027, move into new premises adjacent to the fire station in Trollhättan. Other Information The position of Emergency Communications and Command Officer may be subject to security vetting, which requires Swedish citizenship and background checks. The position also involves war placement and requires a passed health, alcohol, and drug test. Working hours are scheduled over both day and night shifts, with night duty included in the schedule. Employment is governed according to the collective agreement General Terms (AB).
