The Adapted School in Ulricehamns Municipality, which is part of the Tingsholm school area, offers students with intellectual disabilities an education carefully tailored to each student's individual circumstances – from primary school to upper secondary and adult level. The activities are based on the same structure as primary school while also including special subject areas that promote students' motor skills, communication, daily living activities, aesthetic development, and understanding of reality. JOB DUTIES Your task is to teach students following the adapted primary school curriculum in grades 1-9. You plan and conduct teaching based on each student's abilities, create good conditions for learning, and stimulate and challenge students' development and learning. Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for ensuring that students receive the pedagogical and social support they need to develop and reach their goals. Your duties occasionally also include tasks that may otherwise fall to teaching assistants, to support students in everyday and social situations where needed. You also contribute to overall pedagogical development work and collaborate closely with lead teachers, the principal, and other educators to strengthen teaching quality and create a cohesive, safe, and stimulating learning environment. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a certified teacher. It is a requirement that you have previous experience working in an adapted primary school. It is a merit if you are trained as a special education teacher/special pedagogue with a focus on intellectual disabilities and if you have knowledge of alternative communication. It is also a merit if you have knowledge and experience working with students with intellectual and neuropsychiatric disabilities such as ADHD and autism. You need to be confident and stable in your professional role, especially in challenging situations. Clear communication and a calm approach are important, as is your strong empathetic ability. You work in a structured manner with a focus on learning, are flexible, and have good collaboration skills. Great weight is placed on personal suitability. Employment form: Permanent position.
