We are now seeking a qualified teacher for English and another subject instruction in our General Course. Job Responsibilities Currently, we primarily need to strengthen instruction for participants in our General Course, but teaching in other programs, short courses, and commissioned training may also become relevant. You will be responsible for planning, conducting, and evaluating lessons. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor for a class. As a teacher at Tärna Folk High School, you are part of the organization's important socio-pedagogical work. This means you must be interested in people and engaged in both residential life and other activities that may occur at a folk high school. It also means you have several important roles in your teaching work beyond your main subjects. About the Workplace Tärna Folk High School was founded in 1876 and is therefore one of the country's oldest folk high schools. A folk high school is something unique. It is not just about studying theoretical subjects but also about the development of the whole person. At Tärna Folk High School, you can study our long courses: General Course, IT Pedagogy Education, Preparatory Criminal Justice and Police Education, Stress Pedagogy Education, Massage Therapy Education, Wellness Massage Education, Preparatory Care Education, and Care Assistant/Nursing Assistant Education. Employment Terms Summer Substitute Position The position is a permanent full-time appointment (100%) with a six-month probationary period. Start date: August 10, 2026, or by agreement.
