Linåkerskolan is the municipality's only grades 7-9 school with approximately 350 students. The school is divided into four work teams, each with its own home base. These home bases contain classrooms, group rooms, science labs, staff workrooms, and smaller gathering spaces for students. Our shared facilities include a special education department, an auditorium, a student cafeteria, and a school library. Most importantly to us is that all our students become eligible for upper secondary school and feel good along the way. This is certainly a great challenge, which unites the school's staff regardless of professional category – we know that solving it requires great collaboration. Therefore, we are engaged in intensive work to continuously develop the organization and direct efforts at both individual and group levels. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are now seeking a curious and engaged teacher of Swedish and Spanish to join our team. As an individual teacher, you have great autonomy in planning and conducting your teaching, with all instruction based in Google Classroom. The role also includes mentoring, which means you have special responsibility for following up on and supporting individual students' development in close collaboration with their guardians. You will be part of a fixed work team led by a team leader, meeting together once a week and conducting essentially all your teaching in your home base. Additionally, you will work closely with your subject colleagues to develop the subject collectively through regular subject team meetings, where you establish common approaches for which topics are studied in each grade level. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking someone attracted to our school culture and the job description. To fit this role, you are a certified teacher of Swedish and Spanish for grades 6-9, have ongoing teacher training, or possess other experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have previous experience working at the lower secondary level and maintain a clear student focus in your work. You recognize student competence, are engaged in pedagogical development work, and see opportunities rather than obstacles. Through your drive and commitment, you inspire your students, while being positive and having strong collaboration skills. You actively work to build good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues alike, and are completely comfortable communicating both verbally and in writing. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability.
