Description Do you want to teach with the mountains as your classroom – where small groups and closeness to students and colleagues give you great opportunities to make an impact? We are now seeking a qualified and certified teacher of Swedish and English for the 2026–2027 school year. Dikanäs Mountain School is an F–9 school located about ten miles from Vilhelmina town center. It is a vibrant mountain village with a strong sense of community. Here we work in small groups, close to nature, and with great focus on collaboration across grade levels and stages. Together with the preschool in the area, we create a whole where everyone knows everyone – and where you truly have the opportunity to make an impact and develop your teaching. Duties You are responsible for planning, teaching, and following up on Swedish and English in accordance with the curriculum and applicable steering documents. The role includes creating a stimulating and inclusive learning environment where teaching is adapted to students' different needs and conditions, with the goal of giving all students the opportunity to progress as far as possible in their knowledge development. You work actively with assessment and documentation of students' knowledge and are responsible for grading. Qualifications You are a certified teacher with qualifications in Swedish and English. You are flexible and see opportunities in teaching situations. You find it easy to collaborate and see the strength in working across grade levels and stages, and you are innovative and want to contribute to the school's development. It is advantageous if you have experience with ICT in teaching and competence in other subjects. Great importance is placed on personal suitability. Terms With reference to the Swedish Act SFS 2000:873, those offered employment must provide an extract from the criminal record register before employment can be established. In five minutes, in the town centers of Vilhelmina, Saxnäs, and Dikanäs, where we have municipal activities, you can pick up your children from preschool, go to work, go to the gym after work or take your skis/running shoes on the lit trails, and eat at one of the local cafés and restaurants. In the mountains, there are facilities that are open during tourist seasons and year-round, and proximity to some of the larger ski resorts at Kittelfjäll and Klimpfjäll.
