Bärstadsskolan was put into operation in January 2015 and is an F-6 school with approximately 500 students distributed across three parallel classes. The schoolyard has swings, basketball hoops, and soccer goals. The school is divided into three buildings and six departments. Each department has its own home classrooms and works age-homogeneously during the school day. Bärstadsskolan's after-school program is age-integrated in the school facilities and divided into departments Red, Yellow, and Orange. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As an after-school program teacher in Hammarö municipality, you'll have the opportunity to be a central part of the after-school program's work and contribute to a meaningful school day for students. In the role of after-school program teacher, you work together with other staff to plan, implement, and develop activities based on our governing documents and common goals. Your assignment during the school day can vary depending on both your competence and students' needs, making each day unique and developmental. You will have a shared assignment where you serve as a resource in the classroom and work with individual students with special needs. You are part of a team where you are expected to contribute a solution-oriented and results-focused approach, always with students' needs in focus. In close collaboration with colleagues, you actively work to create an accessible and inclusive learning environment for all students. In your role, you will use and evaluate different pedagogical methods to promote development and learning, while seeking new strategies to meet each individual's needs and strengthen both their knowledge-based and personal development. We are looking for someone who is assignment-conscious and self-directed, with a strong ability to build trusting relationships with both students, guardians, and colleagues. Good knowledge of students with special educational needs. As part of Hammarö municipality, you also have access to support and development through our after-school program developer, who leads quality work, arranges network meetings, and is responsible for common meetings for all after-school programs within the municipality. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for a flexible and engaged teacher with a pedagogical degree with specialization in after-school programs. You should be able to implement curriculum goals in high-quality teaching and use an exploratory approach that promotes inclusive practice. We value good collaboration skills and a willingness to actively contribute to school development work. Your ability to be flexible, meet changes, challenges, and adapt teaching based on students' needs and conditions is crucial in our work to create an accessible learning environment. You are stable in values and have a good understanding of the school's mission. As a clear and positive leader in the student group, you can create a safe and welcoming learning environment where curiosity and warmth permeate the work. Your leadership is characterized by flexibility and the ability to quickly adapt to changing needs in both teaching and work processes. We are looking for someone who is analytical and has the ability to plan, implement, follow up, and evaluate both the content of activities and your teaching. You also have a commitment to continuously develop and adapt working methods based on students' individual needs. At Bärstadsskolan, we are a practice school and we expect you to complete mentor training at Karlstad University (KAU) if you have not already done so. Experience from work in preschool classes, after-school programs, and primary school is meritorious.
