About Amerikanska Gymnasiet, Halmstad The school is located on the Halmstad University campus. The school is now in its fourth academic year and has approximately 160 students studying in the Science, Business, or Social Science programs. Teaching is conducted in both English and Swedish by a competent teaching team with a strong sense of community. About the Role We are seeking a substitute teacher who can teach biology and chemistry to our students. You are passionate about teaching your subjects and want to help develop instruction at the school. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, assessing, and evaluating your own teaching. You are expected to lead lessons according to our pedagogical structure, and you will receive guidance on this. You will work closely with an engaged and conscientious teaching team, where collaboration and collegial learning are integral parts of daily work. You will teach in a digital environment with digital learning materials combined with traditional literature. Teaching at the school takes place in both Swedish and English. Mentoring a class may be included in the position. This is a 60% substitute position running from August 3, 2026, to June 2027. Your Profile The position requires Swedish teaching certification and qualification to teach biology and chemistry at the upper secondary level. It is also highly desirable if you have experience teaching at the upper secondary level.
