JOB RESPONSIBILITIES In your role as a preschool class teacher, you will work to give students a good start in life in Eda Municipality and lay the foundation for lifelong learning. Preschool class activities are governed by school laws and curriculum guidelines. As a preschool teacher, you are responsible for promoting student development and learning during their time in preschool class. You will work together with your colleagues in the F-3 work team. As a preschool teacher, you have primary pedagogical responsibility in the preschool class. Using the curriculum as a starting point, all preschool teachers at the unit share responsibility for implementing the governing documents in daily work. In daily work with students, there is a special focus on ensuring that all students are stimulated in their language development. This includes contact with guardians and planning, implementation, documentation, and follow-up as well as evaluation of activities in accordance with established goals and guidelines. As a preschool teacher, you are responsible for: • linguistic, mathematical, scientific, technical, and aesthetic learning and development. • work with practical forms of expression such as art, music, and drama where movement, play, and interaction are in focus. • planning instruction, with help from others in your work team, based on the preschool class curriculum. • creating opportunities for exploration, play, and learning where student influence is given space. • student learning and development with special focus on reading, writing, and mathematics learning. • theme-based work based on a red thread and progression through activities over a longer period. • contact, dialogue, and cooperation with guardians regarding student involvement in daily life in preschool class. • implementing pedagogical adaptations in the student group's physical, pedagogical, and social learning environments. • making adjustments based on the student group's different needs or to stimulate students in need of special support appropriately. • collaborating with other work teams at the unit and professionals within and outside the organization. • ensuring that students have their needs respected and met and experience their own worth. • applying a democratic work approach where students actively participate. • actively incorporating a gender equality perspective so that all students have equal opportunities for expanded perspectives and choices. • developing norms and approaches for work and collaboration in the student group based on the curriculum's value foundation. • creating a professional approach in the work team through active employee engagement. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who have a degree from a preschool teacher program or are awaiting your preschool teacher certification with authorization to teach in preschool/preschool class. It is meritorious if you have previous work experience from similar work in preschool or equivalent work with children in preschool or school. You should be well familiar with, have knowledge of, and work to realize the curriculum's objectives. You have experience with, and master, digital tools in your work. Furthermore, you have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish both orally and in writing based on preschool documentation requirements. It is desirable if you can handle Edlevo and have worked with systematic quality work. If you have experience working with language and knowledge-developing work methods, this is considered meritorious. You are organized and structured, as well as driven in your professional role and have a strong drive to keep the development of the pedagogical environment alive. You are open to learning from and together with other colleagues. You have collaboration skills and dare to challenge yourself and your colleagues in work with children. In collaboration with others, you have an unpretentious approach and focus on the common goal of the organization. Employment Type: Permanent employment. Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-09-14.
