The Preschool and Elementary School Administration is one of Varbergs Municipality's largest departments with nearly 2,200 employees. Within our areas of operation – preschool, elementary school, and child and student health – we are here for children and students – together we shape the future. Furubergsskolan is an F-5 school located in central Varberg with approximately 300 students. The school has age-homogeneous classes with associated after-school programs. For students in grades 3-5, we have a dedicated section. At Furubergsskolan, we strive to give students influence over their education, an influence that is adapted to their age and maturity. They shall gain knowledge about and develop their ability to work in democratic forms. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a teacher with us, you have a central role in creating a safe, developmental, and motivating environment where we together create the best possible conditions for learning. By planning, implementing, and following up on your teaching, you give students the conditions to grow based on their unique needs and goals. Main job responsibilities: • Teaching in grades F-3 • Plan, lead, and evaluate instruction based on curriculum documents and chosen didactic strategies. • Meet each student in their learning progression and strengthen their creativity, curiosity, and self-esteem through professional leadership. • Develop stimulating learning environments that encourage learning, participation, and student influence. • Work toward a holistic perspective on the student's school day through close collaboration with colleagues and guardians. • Actively participate in the school's systematic quality work and contribute to a formative approach in daily pedagogical practice. QUALIFICATIONS For us, it is important that you have a genuine commitment to the teaching profession and see it as a meaningful task to make a difference for children and young people. You are a confident pedagogical leader who with warmth and clarity provides guidance and creates the structure needed for a safe learning environment. For you, collaboration with colleagues is essential for success; you work unpretentiously together with others to develop the operation. You are skilled at building relationships and create trusting contacts with both students and guardians. You have a good feel for the group, are flexible, have didactic ability, and adapt your methods based on students' different needs, learning progression, and disposition. We are looking for you who: • Have teacher certification with qualifications to teach Swedish, mathematics, and science for grades 1-3. • Have the ability to base your teaching on proven experience and scientific grounds. • Demonstrate skill in planning and systematically following up on activities based on given frameworks. • Have good assessment ability to follow up on student development and provide constructive feedback. • Possess clear planning ability to structure lessons and work areas.
