Description Do you want to help create the meals of the future for children? We are now seeking an engaged and innovative cook for our meals unit, positioned in the kitchen at Överby Preschool. Överby Preschool is located close to nature on Resarö in Vaxholm and is home to approximately 90–100 children. Mealtimes are an important part of the children's day and a natural part of their education, where joy in food, curiosity, and sustainability are in focus. Responsibilities As a cook in the meals unit, you will be part of a larger team of around 20 cooks and meal assistants who together are responsible for meals in Vaxholm's municipal preschools and schools. In the kitchen at Överby Preschool, you will work together with a meal assistant and have overall responsibility for the kitchen and meals. Your responsibilities include: Managing all meals, including special diets and individually adapted meals Planning menus for your preschool within our guidelines and objectives, using the meal planning software Mateo Ensuring that meals are of high quality and comply with current guidelines and legal requirements Working systematically with self-inspection and food safety according to applicable regulations Managing the budget and contributing to resource-efficient work practices Collaborating with educators, management, and colleagues within the meals unit You are also an important part of the educational work around mealtimes and contribute to creating a positive meal environment together with children and educators. Qualifications We are looking for someone with: Restaurant, institutional catering, or culinary training at least at upper secondary level Documented experience in cooking and good knowledge of ingredients Good knowledge of nutritional content and a strong interest in special diets and various dietary needs Knowledge of and experience working according to HACCP and applicable food safety regulations Personal Qualities We place great value on your personal qualities and are seeking someone who: Has strong collaboration skills and enjoys working closely with both educators and colleagues in the meals unit Is responsible, independent, and solution-oriented Contributes to a positive and professional work environment Has a genuine commitment to meals and children's meal experiences Is interested in working with meal education and creating joy in food together with children You communicate well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
