The Education and Labor Market Administration is responsible for employment promotion measures, integration issues, and education at upper secondary and post-secondary levels. Here we create conditions for lifelong learning and opportunities for individuals to develop, study, and achieve self-sufficiency. We also contribute to a vibrant business community by addressing development needs in the business sector and creating project initiatives, networks, and meeting places where education and business can connect. The Labor Market Unit is organized under the Education and Labor Market Administration and is part of the VIA department (adult education, integration, and labor market). We work in various ways with assignments mainly from social services/subsistence support, but also from the Integration Unit, the Public Employment Service, and other parties in the Coordination Association such as the Social Insurance Agency and Region Halland. We are currently about 25 employees. Within the unit, we currently offer services such as internal and external work training, job search activities, internship placements, business contacts, work capacity assessments, and various educational initiatives, among others. The Labor Market Unit within Varbergs kommun is undergoing an expansive change process focused on helping more individuals find the fastest path to sustainable self-sufficiency. New legal requirements mean that everyone receiving subsistence support must, based on their activity capacity, be engaged in activities with a focus on breaking social exclusion and moving toward self-sufficiency. The Labor Market Unit has been tasked with developing collaboration internally within the municipality, civil society, and business to activate and work toward progression to employment for everyone receiving subsistence support. Therefore, we are expanding our team with 4 employees with various assignments. Would you like to be part of developing this important and exciting operation further? 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The unit's and job coaches' assignment includes working with participants toward self-sufficiency, facilitating group activities, and actively working to find possible paths forward. This may involve identifying potential employers, maintaining contacts with them, and matching participants with possible employment opportunities or finding paths to studies or other means of self-sufficiency. In this position, the main focus is to work together with the job coaches who in various ways conduct work capacity assessments and work to clarify/investigate activity capacity so that individuals are engaged in activities according to their ability, coach toward increased capacity, and/or receive appropriate compensation. QUALIFICATIONS We prefer that you have relevant higher education as a behavioral scientist, social worker, occupational therapist, or other appropriate education that the employer deems equivalent, and we place great emphasis on personal suitability and experience. Experience working with our cooperation partners, such as the Social Insurance Agency, is desirable. The same applies to experience working with individuals with harmful substance use/addiction and mental health issues. The work requires good collaboration skills with both participants and colleagues and cooperation partners, as well as good knowledge and understanding of regulations from our cooperation partners, such as the Social Insurance Agency. We are looking for someone with experience working goal-focused with unemployed individuals who are far from the labor market. Therefore, it is important that you have a combination of labor market knowledge and knowledge in behavioral science. It is very important that you are driven, goal-focused, and a network builder with a good ability to see the bigger picture. You need to be comfortable being flexible to both support, coach, and actively engage with participants, and be administratively skilled to write clear reports/documentation. You are accustomed to independent work and collaborating in a team and have a calm demeanor when needed. You are good at expressing yourself both verbally and in writing in Swedish.
