In the fall of 2022, JENSEN elementary school opened a brand new school in Tungelsta, Haninge Municipality. The school is located in a beautiful rural setting with a small-town atmosphere. In our school kitchen, we prepare approximately 1,200 portions daily, with about 700 served on-site and 500 delivered to other JENSEN schools. We are now looking for a cook who wants to become part of our team! You will have the opportunity to influence menus together with other cooks at JENSEN schools, plan your own work, and implement your own ideas both locally and on a larger scale within JENSEN's generous guidelines. The work is performed in new facilities and a well-equipped kitchen where everything you need is available. Our meals aim to be high-quality, nutritious, and varied. We have a sustainability mindset and work actively to make the best use of our raw materials. In addition, you share our views on the importance of protecting children's health and well-being, including actively working to reduce the amount of refined sugar they consume. With us, you take on comprehensive responsibility, which you take very seriously. Beyond this, you have a strong desire to brighten the children's day by offering them that "little extra" that your dedication to food can provide. Job Responsibilities The work includes both planning and preparation of lunch, snacks, and dishwashing. You are responsible for restocking food and ensuring that the buffets in the dining hall are clean, both during and after lunch. You are also responsible for special diets. Follow-up and self-checks are part of the role, and you are expected to create good routines that comply with food handling regulations, such as ensuring refrigerators, kitchen spaces, and equipment are in good condition and clean according to HACCP standards. What We're Looking For We are now looking for someone with a passionate interest in preparing good, varied, and healthy food. You want to give children the opportunity to experience new flavors and the feeling that food is both fun and delicious! Work in the kitchen is both independent and very social; the person who cooks is an important person, and you should feel like part of the operation. You are a creative and innovative cook who enjoys taking your own initiative. You are responsible and have great teamwork skills with both children and adults. You have cook training or other equivalent education that the employer deems appropriate. A prerequisite for successfully performing this work is that you are quality-conscious and have good knowledge of allergies, special diets, nutrition, and good health. It is also important that you are flexible and self-directed, as the work can involve rapid changes. Basic computer skills are necessary. Employment Terms This is a permanent position at 100% with start date as soon as possible or by agreement. A six-month probationary period applies to this position.
