Read more about us at coopvarmland.se A leadership role with responsibility for one of the region's most business-critical transformations Coop Värmland is in the midst of a strategic shift where the entire IT landscape is being modernized, consolidated, and integrated with Coop Sweden's shared platform. This is a journey that impacts the entire business – from the store floor to the boardroom. We are now seeking an IT Director with both gravitas and judgment – a leader who can combine strategic vision with operational execution and drive change in a complex environment. The Assignment This is not a traditional IT director role. You will step into an organization where: - large portions of the IT environment need to be replaced or integrated - complex dependencies between different companies, systems, and business processes must be managed - the pace of change is high – while operations must function every single day Your task will be to create direction, structure, and momentum in this transformation – while building trust and security within the organization. Your Role in the Leadership Team As IT Director, you will be part of the leadership team and are expected to actively contribute to the company's overall business and strategic direction. You are not just responsible for IT – you are a business-driving leader who: - takes responsibility for the whole, not just your function - contributes perspective in strategic decisions - is a clear voice on matters concerning digitalization, change, and business development Responsibilities and Scope The role involves overall responsibility for the IT function: - Lead and develop your team - Ensure stable, secure, and cost-effective IT operations - Drive transformation, projects, and development initiatives - Hold budget and results responsibility - Manage vendor relationships and procurement - Ensure regulatory compliance (GDPR, NIS2) At the same time, you need to be able to navigate an environment where daily operations are sometimes characterized by operational challenges and rapid reprioritization. To succeed in this role, you need to: - Translate business needs into functional IT solutions - Be a trusted change leader in an organization in motion - Create structure and prioritization where many initiatives compete - Have the ability to look ahead – even when daily operations require quick actions Here, technology is important – but the real challenge lies in transformation, collaboration, and leadership. Your Profile We are looking for someone with: - Experience leading IT in complex organizations or major transformation initiatives - Strong ability to navigate between strategy and operational execution - Experience in project management, vendor management, and business development - Good understanding of IT infrastructure, integration, and IT security Experience from grocery retail or similar operations is a plus.
