Do you want to drive the design of tomorrow's products? We're looking for an independent Industrial Designer who wants to set the next generation's design language in close collaboration with global vehicle customers. About the Role As an Industrial Designer at Artifex, you'll have overall responsibility for developing and refining both interior and exterior design for vehicle components. The role operates in early and advanced R&D phases where aesthetics, ergonomics, sustainability, and brand identity come together. You'll be based at Lindholmen in Gothenburg and work on design within your team of 11 people. This involves a strong focus on work including analysis, benchmarking, testing, and calculations. Your Main Responsibilities Concept Development & Design: Create and visualize design concepts (sketches, 3D models, renderings) with a focus on new energy and tomorrow's design language. You ensure that what you design is actually manufacturable in practice. Trend & Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, material development, and competitors' design language to recommend the way forward for our products. Technical Sales & Customer Contact: Act as an innovation ambassador. The role involves considerable travel to meet customers on-site and participate in trade shows and conferences to support marketing and R&D. Reporting: You report to the Senior R&D Manager. The team is growing and will consist of 11 people by fall (and an additional 7 people in a parallel group). Who Are You? We're looking for someone who is creative, structured, and confident in driving the design track independently. You have a strong ability to communicate your ideas and enjoy having many contact points both internally and externally. Requirements and Preferences: University degree in industrial design, product design, or transportation design. Experience with design work in the automotive sector or equivalent advanced product development. Good understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., plastic, composite, sheet metal). Very strong skills in relevant 2D/3D tools (CAD, rendering, etc.). Fluent English, spoken and written (Swedish is a merit). Health Requirements: The role requires that you do not have any asthma-like symptoms (due to the work environment during testing/laboratory work). What We Offer Salary: Fixed monthly salary.
