Knowledge, Well-being, and Safety Västerhaninge Montessori School Ugglan is a Montessori-inspired school run by a parent cooperative since 1996. Here, everyone knows each other—both children and adults—and we strive for a calm, respectful, and stimulating school environment where every child can grow at their own pace. At Ugglan, we work based on Maria Montessori's philosophy that children want to learn, can learn, and have an innate desire to learn. Every child is unique and has the right to develop on their own terms. At Ugglan, children take part in responsibility for their learning by actively participating in planning and evaluation. Freedom to choose activities and the opportunity to work undisturbed at their own pace are two of the most important conditions in our pedagogy. This creates a good work environment and makes learning more enjoyable. Ugglan is a small school with a strong focus on knowledge and safety. Our staff consists of educators who enjoy working together with students and guardians to create the best education. During joint activities, students interact across age groups, and through a strong sense of community and a practice where all staff see every child, we help our students develop as far as possible based on their own abilities. Here, children get to be children a little longer. The atmosphere is family-like and we all work together on students' knowledge development, social development, safety, and well-being. We are now seeking a primary teacher for grades 3-6 with credentials in home economics, crafts, and art. You see, challenge, and support our students in their knowledge development to help them reach as far as possible. You use the learning environment as an important part of the pedagogical work. You will be part of a team that you work closely with, and you will have close collaboration with the school's teachers and other educators. We strive for all pedagogical staff to have common professional development days where all employees are part of the overall quality work. Qualifications: - We are looking for you with a teacher's degree (primary teacher for grades 3-6). - You have relevant experience and have taught the subjects for which you are credentialed. Personal Qualities: - You are curious about Montessori pedagogy and experience with this approach is a merit. - You are engaged, professional, initiative-taking, and a good team player. - You have good collaboration skills, clarity, and responsiveness in an independent role and can plan, organize, and carry out your work together with others. - You take responsibility for your tasks; you plan, structure, and prioritize your work efficiently with good results. - You have the ability to motivate and be communicative. - You are responsive and have a good understanding of how people acquire knowledge and can adapt your way of conveying messages to the recipient. - You see opportunities in change and can adapt to changing circumstances. - You have good communication skills both verbally and in writing. - Digital competence. Building good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues comes naturally to you. You create a good learning environment based on modern Montessori pedagogy that is inspiring and enjoyable for students. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working in a team, while also being able to plan and work independently. You are passionate about contributing to others' learning and create conditions for enjoyable learning to take place. You can balance different demands and maintain calm in difficult situations. Other important abilities are your capacity to create a good work environment, to approach people with respect and patience, and to appreciate working with people. Application deadline is July 31.
