Do you want to contribute to a safe meeting place for children and young people in the municipality? Nordmalings Municipality is now seeking an engaged recreation leader for our youth center. We welcome your application! The Workplace In culture and recreation, we are responsible for, among other things, a swimming hall and sports facilities, a music school, and youth centers. In our mission, we work to create good conditions for residents, cultural actors, and club life to both offer and participate in meaningful and health-promoting recreation. The youth center in Nordmalings Municipality is a safe meeting place where children and young people can socialize, participate in activities, and receive support from engaged staff members. The activities are based on participation, where young people can help shape the content. Work is conducted in close collaboration with various actors such as schools, IFO, and club life to create a safe and inclusive recreational and growing environment. The focus is on preventing exclusion and risk behaviors, strengthening self-esteem, and offering active, safe, and developmental recreation. The municipality has recently decided to operate the youth center directly. This means that leaders and staff members will, together, shape and develop the activities to meet the needs of children and young people, both now and in the future. The Role and Responsibilities As a recreation leader at the youth center, you work closely with young people and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and inspiring meeting place. You plan and conduct activities together with the young people and support their own initiatives and ideas. At our youth center and within work with children and young people in Nordmalings Municipality, you will be an important part of developing and creating good conditions for young people's safety, participation, and influence. The work includes, among other things: Planning and conducting activities for young people Creating safe relationships and being an adult role model Working to build relationships and reaching out Collaborating with, for example, schools, associations, and other actors Participating in the development of recreational activities Your Profile We are looking for someone who has recreation leader training or other relevant education or experience in the field. We also see that you have a B driver's license. It is meriting if you have experience working with children and young people as well as experience with projects or group leadership. Personal qualities/abilities that are important for succeeding in the work are that you are self-directed with the ability to plan and conduct activities on your own. You are flexible and can adapt to the activities' and young people's needs in a changing time. You have good collaboration skills and contribute to a positive work environment together with colleagues and collaboration partners. As a person, you are relationship-building, confident, and engaged in meeting with young people. You also have high cultural awareness and work inclusively with respect for different backgrounds, perspectives, and individuals. Employment In the role as recreation leader, you are scheduled for day, evening, and weekend hours. Prior to employment, a certificate from the criminal records register must be presented. The certificate must be presented to the employer before employment begins to ensure safety and security for our children and young people.
