About the Unit FM UAS Center FM UAS (Unmanned Aerial System) Center is a newly reorganized unit as of June 2025, based in Karlsborg. The Center is tasked with, among other things, environmental monitoring, leading development in the creation of new UAS capabilities, and training in the field. FM UAS Center consists of four different departments: Training, Development, Exercise/Training, and Technical Service. The Training Department is responsible for planning and conducting courses within respective RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System). The Development Department tests and verifies future RPAS for FM needs. Exercise/Training is responsible for and participates in central exercise planning related to RPAS. Technical Service supports respective departments with maintenance and technical support. Primary Duties The Training Department consists of three sections responsible for tactical, combat technical, FPV (First Person View), and smaller RPAS. The sections are responsible for developing training materials and conducting courses for the entire FM. The department also supports the Development Department in testing and verification of new systems. As a Specialist Officer in the Training Department, your task will be partly skills training on the systems that respective sections are responsible for, in order to build and maintain high system understanding. In course activities, you will be part of an instructor team where you will lead/support in theory lectures and practical flight exercises. There are good opportunities to develop and take on more responsibility within the department in various roles/positions such as course director, section chief, participating in projects with the Development Department, and in exercise planning. Open Positions: Flight Instructor SRPAS Section (responsible for combat technical systems) and Flight Instructor MRPAS Section (responsible for smaller RPAS and FPV) REQUIREMENTS Qualifications Approved Specialist Officer degree B driver's license Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing Full vision (1.0 with or without visual aids) Full color vision Personal Qualities We are looking for you as a team player who enjoys working together with others and contributes to positive teamwork. As an instructor, we also see that you have good communication skills since a large part involves being able to express yourself clearly and distinctly in the instructor role. The position will also require you to be flexible and open to new challenges as we currently see high demand for various different RPAS systems and also a numerical increase. K 3 trains a ranger battalion and an intelligence battalion. The ranger battalion is a highly mobile unit that should be able to be first on the scene in an operation. The intelligence battalion delivers intelligence by using advanced technology, personnel on the ground, and unmanned aircraft systems (RPAS). At K 3 there is also the Swedish Armed Forces' Survival School and the Flight Unit responsible for remotely piloted flight systems and military parachute service.
