The department is responsible for education from preschool through adult education and also operates a unique center for youth's active leisure time. As a preschool teacher, you lead and are responsible for the activities in a way that enables children to develop as fully as possible toward the curriculum's goals and guidelines. You have a holistic perspective on the activities with the child's learning in focus. In your work, you challenge children's curiosity, interests, and desire to learn while creating conditions for their development and learning. You plan, implement, evaluate, develop, and document the activities based on existing governing documents. As part of your assignment, you follow research and work according to proven experience and scientific basis to continuously develop the quality and content of the activities. Skara has 10 municipal preschools. We are now seeking a licensed preschool teacher for Marieberg Preschool, located in central Skara. You are a dedicated, present, and attentive preschool teacher who is passionate about creating a secure and joyful environment where children's curiosity and perspectives are at the center. You build relationships by meeting each child with presence and attentiveness. You promote language and communication through storytelling, conversations, and play. You weave the curriculum's goals into everyday life in a meaningful and natural way—mathematics, natural sciences, and creative activities become part of the child's exploration. You are curious and reflective, viewing development as a shared journey where children's questions and ideas have a place. Through documentation and shared reflections, you make children's learning visible and let their perspectives guide the activities. Qualifications Licensed preschool teacher or teacher licensed for preschool. Strong ability to plan, organize, and follow up on pedagogical work as well as the ability to take initiative and start processes, both in teams and in activities. Strong ability to create respectful relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. Ability to capture children's initiatives and create participation. Be a person who can lead both among children and colleagues and have the ability to take different perspectives. Additional Information and Benefits The position is permanent full-time (100%), with start date August 3, 2026, or by agreement.
