Research Engineer in Lung Biology with Focus on Lung Diseases
Popis:
Lund University was founded in 1666 and is consistently ranked as one of the world's leading academic institutions. With approximately 46,000 students and 8,500 employees in Lund, Helsingborg, and Malmö, we are united in our mission to understand, explain, and improve our world and human conditions. Description of the Workplace The Lung Biology research group at the Department of Experimental Medical Science, led by Gunilla Westergren-Thorsson, is seeking a Research Engineer. The group's primary objective is to investigate mechanisms behind chronic lung diseases such as allergic asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). These diseases involve remodeling of lung structure, and currently there are no effective treatments that can reverse the pathological changes associated with these conditions. Through our research, we hope to contribute to understanding fundamental molecular mechanisms by mapping how interactions between specific lung cells, immune cells, and the surrounding extracellular tissue contribute to disease progression. We Offer Lund University is a state authority, which means you receive special benefits, generous vacation, and a favorable occupational pension.
