Individual and Family Services (IFO) consists of both public authority functions and service delivery operations and meets residents in need of support in various ways. Within IFO we have units such as children and youth, foster care, family law, family support, livelihood support, adults, persons with functional impairments, social psychiatry, support for the elderly, and administration. The Unit for Foster Care, Family Law, and Administration is now seeking a new team member, as one of our experienced foster care secretaries moves on to other tasks. The foster care team is a stable work group consisting of five child secretaries and six foster care secretaries plus two experienced team leaders. In the unit we work with Skolfam and therefore we have a special educator and a psychologist who work together with us. The workplace is centrally located in Stenungsund and is easily accessible by public transport from Gothenburg and Uddevalla. There is a wide range of shopping and lunch restaurants near the municipal building, and from the office window there is an opportunity to see the sea! 1 position(s). WORK TASKS Your main duties as a foster care secretary will be to recruit, investigate, train, and supervise foster families. You will work in a team with child secretaries in ongoing placements. You will support and provide security for foster families in order to provide children with good, safe, and secure care and to ensure children's contact with their biological parents and other networks. The goal is for our foster families to be independently operated and to receive qualified support at different levels based on what the child and family need. Documentation is done in Lifecare. The work may involve short and long trips. The role of foster care secretary requires that you have a good ability to build and create relationships with the families you meet. We can offer you stimulating and developmental work that both engages and challenges you. You will join a group with experienced colleagues who are confident in their roles. We have fun together and are considerate of one another. The group has external supervision and regular method supervision. QUALIFICATIONS You must have a degree in social work and preferably experience in foster care and public authority functions for children and youth. Meriting is training in the Kälvesten Model. Knowledge of current legislation and good knowledge of Swedish is a prerequisite. It is important that you enjoy working together but also independently. You need to be comfortable meeting both adults and children and young people and have an easy time talking with them and holding their stories. You enjoy expressing yourself both verbally and in writing, have an easy time speaking to groups, and meeting people in different contexts. The work requires a good ability to promote our work in connection with recruitment efforts. A large dose of humility and flexibility facilitates the work. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. As a person, you need to be calm and secure and have achieved both personal and professional maturity. Good knowledge of child development is desirable, as is good structure, great responsibility, and professional conduct. A driver's license is required. There will be a major focus on developing foster care services going forward, which means you need to be interested in trying new ways of working and participating in that work.
