As a home relief worker, you care for a child or young person with a disability, providing respite for parents. The relief work takes place in the home or nearby area, and you might engage in crafts, watch movies, play games, or visit a local playground. During this time, parents can run errands, pursue their own activities, spend time with siblings, or simply rest. As a companion, you support a person with a disability in getting to and from activities, such as participating in leisure activities or otherwise taking part in community life. Your tasks and working hours are determined by the support needs of the user or family, but are usually scheduled for afternoons, evenings, and weekends. The scope varies but is typically between 2-5 hours per week. You should intend to maintain the position for an extended period, at least 6 months. You don't need any special education, but it's an advantage if you have experience and knowledge of disabilities or work with children and young people. As a temporary worker, you'll receive basic training and then receive individualized guidance based on your needs. Since work shifts are usually short, we prefer that you live in Kungsbacka Municipality or have a short commute.
