About the Workplace Nödinge/Kyrkbyskolan is a grades F–6 school located behind Ale Torg in Nödinge. The school is divided into a lower grades building and a middle grades building on either side of a large schoolyard. The school has approximately 650 students. In our values-based work, we base ourselves on the PALS model. We have a school counselor for grades F–3, and we are now seeking a new colleague for grades 4–6. At the middle school level, we also have a student coordinator who supports work to promote attendance, safety, and academic focus. Duties The student health team's primary task is to work preventively and promotively to support students' learning, development, safety, and health. The work occurs at the individual student level, group level, and school level. Work as a school counselor takes place in close collaboration with teachers and other school staff and is based on a salutogenic approach, aimed at removing barriers to students' learning, health, and development. With your expertise, you also contribute to ensuring that students in need of special support from a psychosocial perspective receive adequate help. Your duties include, among other things: • Contributing knowledge about risk and protective factors for students' health, social situation, learning, and development. • Contributing to investigative measures as part of the school's overall student health work and supporting students' development and goal attainment. • Playing a central role in the school's work against discrimination and harassment. • Reporting to social services when there is suspicion that a child is being harmed, as well as supporting the principal and other school staff in reporting matters. • Offering supervision, consultation, and guidance to school staff from a school social perspective. • Offering individual support to students within the school's mandate. • Collaborating with external actors, such as social services, BUP (Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services), and rehabilitation services, both regarding individual students and in overarching and preventive work. Documentation will be conducted in ProRenata starting from the fall term 2025. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is a social worker, social pedagogue with an academic degree, or has another higher education or university degree that the employer deems suitable for this assignment. Previous experience as a school counselor is a merit, as is prior work with children and young people. You are confident and stable in your professional role with good sense of responsibility, thoroughness, and flexibility. You are organized and clear in your work and work both independently and in collaboration with other professionals. You take responsibility for your work tasks and prioritize your efforts together with the principal and other student health staff. You communicate easily and meet people well, and you enjoy working with children, young people, and their guardians. You are professional and respectful in your treatment of students and in contact with guardians and colleagues. Other Information We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
