Job Responsibilities: We are seeking you to work as a student assistant close to the students, tailoring your support based on their individual needs. You may work dedicated with a single student, with a small group, or provide support to the entire class. During lessons, you clarify the teacher's instructions through oral explanations, sign language support, sensory stimulation, or visual aids, and you assist students in their learning under the teacher's guidance. When needed, you may also conduct lessons based on the teacher's planning. The work may include our after-school activities before and after school hours, where you work with colleagues to plan and deliver program content. An important part of your role is supporting students with practical tasks throughout the day, such as restroom visits and diaper changes, recess activities, meals, lifting and transfers, and meeting students at their taxi. You contribute to students' social development by supporting them in their interactions with others, and you follow their self-care plans, which may involve testing blood sugar, administering medication, or conducting tube feeding. Together with other staff, you participate in planning, implementation, and evaluation of student development. By documenting students' school days, you also help prepare them for as independent a life as possible after school. During a week, you may work in several departments, which requires flexibility and confidence in handling new situations and student groups. You work closely with guardians, the school's student support team, and external professionals such as rehabilitation services and LSS. You also collaborate with other activities at the school, such as the primary school and other adapted primary school programs. Requirements for the Position: You must be at least 18 years old Post-secondary education as a student assistant or social pedagogue Strong knowledge of Swedish language, both spoken and written Meritorious for the Position: Post-secondary education as a childcare worker or nursing assistant, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer Further training in: Neuropsychiatric and intellectual disabilities Alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) Visual supports and structure Sign language support Care assistance (CPR, self-care, personal care) Experience working in the above-mentioned educational areas Experience working with children/students with autism Experience working with children or youth in need of special support, in school or after-school programs Personal Qualities: You are driven by a desire to create the very best conditions for students in adapted primary education. About the Workplace: Navetskolan is an adapted primary school for students with intellectual disabilities. The school is located in central Asarum and offers education for grades 1–9, currently serving approximately 60 students. Navetskolan consists of four departments located at Stenbackanavet, in the Lindemo area, and in a building adjacent to Klockebacksskolan. The school has approximately 50 employees, educators and student assistants, who work together in teams.
