1 position(s). We are now seeking a student assistant to support students in learning situations and social contexts both in and outside the classroom! We have high expectations of ourselves and of each other. Slättängsskolan is a grades F-9 school with one class per grade level up to grade 6. The F-6 section has approximately 150 students and about 20 staff members. Your Role As a student assistant, you will help and encourage students who need particular support with learning, development, and independence, both individually and in groups, using a calm and measured approach. The work involves creating a safe environment and structure for students, with a focus on studies and conditions for developing collaboration and relationships at school. Work is carried out under the direction of the responsible teacher and in accordance with the current curriculum. You will support students throughout the school day, both in the classroom, during breaks, in the after-school program, during meals and hygiene activities, and in other activities. The work requires constant attention, analysis, and understanding of situations in and outside the classroom. In close cooperation with teachers and other student assistants, you will strive to find individual solutions so that each student can benefit from instruction in the best possible way. Understanding each other's professional roles is of utmost importance. Contact and cooperation with guardians is an important part of the work, as is active participation in the development of the workplace and taking responsibility for your own professional development. The work can be physically demanding and psychologically challenging. Who Are We Looking For? We are seeking someone who has one of the following: - High school diploma from the Child and Recreation Program with a focus on pedagogical and social work - Completion of the Student Assistant occupational package within adult education or equivalent student assistant education from a folk high school - Diploma/completion from equivalent education that the employer deems sufficiently comprehensive in pedagogy and child development and learning - Fulfills some of the education requirements and has at least three years of work experience as a student assistant Documented experience as a student assistant or previous work in an after-school program is meriting. We welcome competence and experience working with students with PTSD and diabetes. You need to be able to select approaches within the pedagogical methods and techniques used by the school. We also want you to have the ability to stimulate students in their development and have a good ability to meet children of school age. You are a balanced and stable person with a professional approach and can handle situations that arise in a safe and calm manner. To succeed in your role as a student assistant, it is important that you have empathetic abilities and can collaborate. Since the work can be physically demanding, it is necessary that you are in good physical condition. To allow us to consider your application, you must attach certificates/grades from your completed education.
