Do you want to be part of shaping the future of visual technologies with cutting-edge artificial intelligence? Your Responsibilities In this role, you will conduct research focused on developing new generative AI models and deep learning methods to create, edit, and optimize photorealistic computer graphics and 3D scenes with real-time rendering. You will work in close collaboration with senior researchers and other PhD students on projects exploring the intersection between neural rendering (e.g., NeRF and Gaussian Splatting) and traditional computer graphics. As a PhD student, you will pursue your doctoral studies and research projects. Your work may also include teaching or participating in other departmental assignments, up to 20% of full-time. Your Qualifications You hold a degree in advanced computer science, engineering physics, applied mathematics, computer science, or equivalent, or have completed at least 240 higher education credits with at least 60 advanced-level credits in a relevant field such as machine learning, computer vision, computer graphics, or image analysis, or have acquired essentially equivalent knowledge in another way. We are looking for someone who is analytical, self-driven, and has strong problem-solving abilities. You have a genuine interest in visual technology and the ability to work both independently and effectively in a team. You must have excellent programming skills in Python and C++, documented experience with computer graphics, GPU development, and practical experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. Since the research is conducted in an international environment, you must have excellent English proficiency, both spoken and written. Extension of employment up to five years is based on the degree of teaching and departmental assignments. Under special circumstances, further extensions may be granted. You will initially be employed for one year, and thereafter the employment will be renewed with a maximum of two years at a time, based on the achieved study plan. Start date by agreement. The position may be placed in a security classification. If so, a security clearance with record check will be conducted before the employment decision is made.
