Are you driven by taking comprehensive responsibility for advanced technical systems and leading others in a complex and evolving environment? We are now looking for a Design Authority at Saab Dynamics. Your Role As Design Authority, you will have a central and overarching role where you are responsible for the overall technical perspective within a product family. You will work in a leadership function and collaborate closely with multiple parts of the organization - from early studies and development projects to maintenance and further development of existing systems. The role involves ensuring that our products remain robust over time, both from a technical and systemic perspective. You lead and coordinate a broad technical organization and serve as an important link between different disciplines such as mechanics, electronics, and software. Examples of work tasks: Hold overall technical responsibility within a product family Ensure system functionality, requirements, and technical solutions over time Lead and coordinate a cross-functional technical organization Work with the complete product lifecycle - from early studies to aftermarket Provide technical support to projects, program management, and other stakeholders Contribute to strategic technical decisions and long-term development Your Profile We are looking for someone with a strong technical interest who thrives in a leadership role where you can combine technology, structure, and collaboration. In this role, you will have clear leadership responsibility, where you are expected to drive the work forward, create direction and engagement, and ensure that the right technical decisions are made over time. We prefer a confident leader who can combine a strategic perspective with operational engagement. You have a background in development and a good understanding of complex systems. To succeed in the role, you need to have a holistic perspective, be able to make decisions, and create engagement across a broad organization. We believe you have: Civil engineering degree or equivalent Several years of experience in technology development, preferably in mechanics-intensive products Experience working with complex systems that also include software and electronics Experience in a leadership or coordinating role Very strong ability to communicate and collaborate with different stakeholders A structured way of working and strong drive It is advantageous if you have experience with our products or similar technical systems. The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to applicable regulations for security clearance.
