WORK TASKS As a building inspector/building permit handler with us, you will have a central role in the municipality's construction activities. The position will have a clear focus on the building inspector assignment, where you follow and influence different phases of the construction process from planning to completion. Depending on operational needs over time, work tasks within supervision and handling of building permits may also occur, providing a broad and developmental role. Your main work tasks include handling of cases for start permits and final permits. You lead and participate in technical consultations, conduct workplace visits, and hold final consultations. Through your work, you actively contribute to ensuring that construction projects are carried out with high quality and in accordance with applicable legislation. You work in a structured manner and manage multiple cases in parallel, often in different phases. Through good planning and prioritization, you drive your cases forward in an efficient and lawful manner. The role involves many contact points where you are expected to act professionally, responsively, and with respect. The work is characterized by a high degree of independence with great freedom under your own responsibility, while you are part of an engaged and knowledgeable work group. Collaboration, experience exchange, and continuous consultations are a natural part of our daily work. As a building inspector, you are also an important guide through the regulations. You support and guide citizens, building owners, and companies and help create understanding for the construction process—from idea to finished building. You stay updated through environmental monitoring, experience exchange, and continuous professional development. You also actively contribute to quality and development processes to strengthen and develop the operations. QUALIFICATIONS Required qualifications • You hold a degree as a building engineer or other equivalent construction technical education • Good communication skills in Swedish both verbally and in writing • Category B driver's license • You have experience with inspection of constructions in your work (for example as a building inspector, control responsible, inspection officer, project manager, or similar role) Meriting qualifications • Experience in municipal operations and authority exercises • You have experience in geotechnical assessments and landslide and avalanche risks • You have good knowledge of accessibility requirements according to the Planning and Building Act • You have good knowledge of fire protection in buildings Form of employment: Permanent employment.
